When I click on internet explorer or other selections such as Word 2 pop up windows appear on the computer. One labled Win 32 application and the other Project 1. Both say run-time error '5' invalid procedure call or argument. I have updated Microsoft and even restarted my computer but this is still occuring. Please give me some advice on what I need to do.

Sounds like spyware or a virus. You need to clean your system of both. You did not mention what operating system is installed but you may need to reformat your system to cure the spyware and/or virus issues.

Definitely win32 virus. You should run a scan.
sounds like spyware to me. go to download.com and download spybot and adaware se personal. (both are free software) run them in safe mode. restart your computer and you should have no more problems.
Sounds like you have some missing program files!
If you have the windows install cd do this to rebuild them...
go to START then RUN type in COMMAND.COM at this point you will see a black rectangular screen appear. insert your windows install disk and when it trys to load windows? just close that windows setup screen Now in that black screen type this command line sfc /scannow that is sfc then a space then foreward slash / and scannow. this will check and restore your missing dlls critcal files etc... ENJOY~

Activate your pop-up blocker. Click on tools, turn on pop-up blocker. Get the yahoo toolbar, has a great pop-up blocker..
