How do I get rid of this weird popup in Internet Explorer?

Everytime I click a link in Internet Explorer, a new window pops up. It's always blank and vanishes almost instantly. I'm trying to figure out what it's trying to load, but so far the best I have gotten is that the IP address may start with 83 and sometimes the titlebar has a 404 error right before closing. Any idea how to get rid of this? I have tried Microsoft Update, Symantic AntiVirus, Spybot and Ad-Aware, all with the latest updates. I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 and Internet Explorer 6.

Well, try taking it to a PC Doctor, or try getting SpySweeper, you can get it at Wal Mart. It is great. Good luck, and all the best!

Are you running NPDOR? That will do that sometimes.

Take a look in your history file and see if you can track down the URL that way.
Hi,

why don't u try repairing Internet explorer? just use Internet explorer repair tool in system tools.

START- PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES- SYSTEM TOOLS-SYSTEM INFORMATION- INTERNET EXPLORER REPAIR TOOL. SYSTEM WILL RESTART AFTER REPAIR.

if this doesn't solve the problem, try to re-install Internet explorer with some service pack.

at last, if everything fails, use some other browser like fire fox, opera, Netscape etc.

ALL THE BEST.
Use firefox. Its a much better web browser. It is faster and is much more secure than Internet Explorer.Besides IE version 6.0 does not have any facility to block pop-ups.
